SORORITY HISTORY
The history of Galveston Alumnae Chapter (GAC) begins with our national founder and native Galvestonian, Jessie McGuire Dent. In 1941, she organized Galveston’s Gamma Delta Chapter. It was a mixed chapter of six members in that some of the women had college degrees while others had a minimum of two years of college. Mixed chapters were eventually discontinued. Galveston Alumnae Chapter, as we know today, was chartered in 1969.
